you today? I am… . Thank you.
T: I am glad that you are in a good mood. And today we are going to
revise the material about the place we live in.
Look, this English proverb – East or West, Home is Best! presents our
today’s topic.
T: So, we are going to do different tasks. For each task, correctly
done, we will have a piece of a puzzle. At the end of the lesson we will be
able to see what is it.
So, let’s start!
II Main part.
T: So, the first task is “What sound is it?”.
3. Phonetic drill.
T: Let’s train our tongues.
T-Ps: Look at the blackboard.

Let’s read these words:

b) Make up a sentence.
Each group has papers with words, the task is to make up sentences.
Children present their sentences. These sentences form a short text.

T: Yes! Smiling Sam prepared for us different tasks. For each task,
correctly done, we will have a piece of a surprise.
So, let’s start!

T: So, the first task is “Sounds”.

T: But first of all let’s train our tongues.
T-Ps: Look at the blackboard. You
can see four houses. Each house has a
name.

pupil puts “it” in the house with a
sound [i] )
Pupils read all the words from the magic book and put them in the
correct house.
T: Well done! For this task Smiling Sam gives you two pieces of our
surprise.
T: Children, look! There is one symbol of birthday among these words.
It is a birthday hat. What symbols of birthday do you know?
T: The next task is “Speaking”.
5. Revising vocabulary.
a) T: In our classroom we have some symbols-flags of birthday. They are
guests, sweets, decorations, birthday hat. Let’s name other pictures.
Presentation is on the screen.
T-P1: What is this? It’s a present.
(a child puts a present –flag on the blackboard and hangs it on the
string.)
T-P2: What is this? It’s a candle. T-P3:……
T: Now, look! We decorated our classroom.
Smiling Sam is happy! Another part of our surprise is here.
T: Now, children. I have some pictures – symbols of birthday for you too,
but they are not coloured. Take your coloured pencils and colour them.
Children choose the pictures, name them and colour them.
b) T: Now candles come here. Children, who chose the candle, come up to
the blackboard. Other children count them.
Ps: one, two, three, four – four candles!
(the same with hats, balloons, presents and stars)

6. Physical activity – song “I

8. Role Play.
Children of three act out the dialogues. One person has a birthday,
other two – guests.
They are wearing birthday hats. Guests have a card (on one side of it there is a picture of a gift box and on another side there is a present – ball, doll, bike…)

B: Happy Birthday!
A: Wow! What’s this?
B: It’s a doll, ball, bike….

One pupil chooses one picture from the book and the teacher asks:

Then pupils repeat all the words.

T: So, the next task is “Guess the Toy”.
b) Game “Guess the Toy”.
Children put small cards “Toys” on their desks and each group of
children chooses one card toy and the pupil who has this card doesn’t show it
to others. Other groups of pupils should
guess which toy he/she has got.

P2: Is it a plane? P: Yes, it is. Now child who wins – guesses another
card.
T: Well done!
